5 affordable ways to set up a stunning living room!

While the ideas given below may not entertain all, these techniques might come handy if you want to give your bachelor or bachelorette pad a mini makeover.

FLOOR MATTRESS

First and foremost is the seating. To get a young vibe replace your sofas with floor mattress/ pillows. It may not seem very convenient but is very cost-effective and actually is pretty nice. In order to accentuate it throw in some cushions and layers to cover it.

CURTAINS

There must be a saree or two in yours or your mother’s wardrobe that you don’t wear anymore. Choose a cotton one with really fun print or may be some waste material you have lying around. Give it to tailor get it stitched to get your own customized curtain design. You may use the same method for those cushion covers. And this is where your hidden embroidery skills might come into use.

WALL STICKERS

Walls play a major role in creating an ambience. To keep it casual yet trendy and to stay within budget. You may choose wall stickers which comes in so many colors and varieties and let’s be honest sticks within your budget. You can buy it online too.

VINTAGE TRUNK CENTER TABLE

When everything is getting set up you really need that one particular piece which will capture all your friends’ attention. And in this case that piece is going to be a vintage trunk table, which you might find in your grandfather/mother‘s closet or in some antique shops you might find in the city. This will be a real attention seeker. Whether to repaint it or not is upto you. And hey the trunk also great to store magazine and chips.

FAIRY LIGHTS WITH POLAROIDS

It is quite the trend isn’t it? A wall enlightening all your life’s memories. Your own wall of love may be. Sounds interesting but looks ravishing. But doesn’t everyone do it then how can you differ from them. Use an additional accessory. I have three ways in mind.

  1. Tapes: Do you guys remember those old audio tapes we used to play with? They can be used as a medium to pass those fairy light strings and enhance its effect.
  2. Wheel rims: Tie the lights around the circular perimeter of the wheel rim and hang it like an pendant from ceiling or in the wall.
  3. Tree branches: I believe you can find this in most part of the city. Take them and tie them with thick thread to cover it and then place the lights in a clumsy manner around the branch and place it in a pot like a plant and keep it near the floor mattress. You’ve got yourself a floor lamp.

You might improvise as you wish. Each one of us is unique and so she should be our homes. Your home should express who you are. Always keep that in mind.Happy designing! J
