5 ways to use Living coral in interiors
Living coral has been announced as Pantone color of the year 2019, and it is very important to make sure that this color has a place in your palette if you think of redecorating or renovating your house.
The
color is a beautiful, breezy and bright shade and is said to help your creative
juice flow. Though many hesitate to have this as a dominant or main color in
their design due to its extra vibrant nature, there are ways in which this
color can be subtly incorporated in interiors to create beautiful spaces.
Fabrics
First
and foremost, a vital element in any interiors are fabrics, and the coral is a
perfect choice because the fabrics help in sustaining the free-flowing and breezy
effect the hue has to offer. You can use it in curtains, cushion covers or even
ditch those dark and shady rugs for this bright shade also table runners, but
be careful of where you use it. Since it is a light color the maintenance can
be a little tricky.
Back splash
Kitchen
area can be made a little interesting by using this color in the splash tiles
also instead of going for a simple pattern try rather interesting patterns to
opt for quirky charm in the kitchen. Also this tile can be used as splash tiles
near your bathtub in the washroom to get in a coastal or shore effect into the
interiors.
Sideboard
If
you want to make a statement with this color in your interior, I would suggest
the best way to go would be to look for a sideboard. They are a wonderful piece
of furniture and not many are available in this color. Hence yours would be
unique and not to forget beautiful. Also having it in the form of antique,
crackled or distressed finish increase the charm of the piece.
Lighting
Coral
sconces or pendant can be a huge hit in the interiors if used right. They have
the ability to add a lot of color to an otherwise plain space. Also the color’s
best is exhibited in the form of metallic texture. Hence using coral pendant or
sconce should definitely be on your list. This way it brings a sophisticated
yet a colorful approach in the interiors which is not a trait found many other
colors.
Wallpaper/Paint
Any
room will have an accent wall and to make the bold choice of choosing coral as
the dominant color is a little risky but there are ways to make sure the choice
doesn’t back fire. For example in case of wall paper instead of preferring a
single color for the whole swatch you can balance its effect with a neutral
color such as grey. And another way is use texture finishes which compromises
the actual effect it would have as a block color.
This
hue is gorgeous in its own way, don’t be afraid to get a little creative with
this hue, the reward is one-of-a-kind beautiful interior for you to relish.
