STYLE COMBOS FOR INTERIORS (PART 1)
Ever heard of the term fusion interior. Being
the case that Fusion interiors are trending now you might have come across this
etymology and we would like to suggest you a few interesting combos which either
with their contrasting features or complementing features helps you overcome
the monotonous style and have varied range and choices and help in designing an
interior as unique as it could be.
COMBO ONE
Bohemian + Midcentury modern (Contrasting)
Why is it a good choice?
The charmingly clumsy and free-spirited bohemian
paired up with a clean, sophisticated and uncluttered style of midcentury
modern really strikes a great balance in interiors and can be most suitable for
a bachelor or bachelorette pad.
How to implement?
- Distressed furniture of geometric shapes. Make sure the furniture has sharp or curved edges.
- Metal chairs or hair pin legs but colored bright from the bohemian palette.
- Choose a lot of artistic accessories of abstract shapes but placed in an uncluttered manner.
- Make the kitchen layout clean-cut and clear but opt for rather interesting tile patterns.
- Use a lot of layers but keep the prints simple and geometric.
- Include a lot of metal and glass in the interiors but make sure the metals have a slightly distressed texture.
- Keep the levels of the furniture and any element of the interior asymmetrical. For example near a low-lying sofa place a tall floor lamp. Even in the break-fast counter let the pendants light hang asymmetrically. For most part refer cool white lighting paired up with ample amount of natural lighting.
COMBO TWO
Chettinad + Contemporary
Why is it a good choice?
This unique combo of a classic traditional
style teamed up with elegant contemporary style, the output has everything. This
might be the right choice for anyone who likes things elegant with a little bit
of desi Indian touch for their dream home.
How to implement?
- Use a lot of metal accents but stick with mostly brass.
- Carved wooden picture frames for wall accents.
- Use a combination of plain ceramic tiles and aathangudi tiles.
- Use a combination of floor lighting and metal lanterns.

Why is it a good choice?
Now this falls under the criteria of complementing
styles. The choice of materials are mostly natural wood, stone. They don’t
conceal but express the beauty of different elements of interiors in an unconventional
way.
